A lot of people wonder how much Matcha should they daily drink?
Well, there is no perfect daily dosage that can suit everyone; it all depends on the person who is going to be drinking it.
At Evzin Bio we recommend 1-3 cups a day. We believe that this would be the best quantity for a healthy person (1g /serving or ½ tsp./ serving).
Matcha is consider safe to consume, nevertheless as an ancient Greek philosopher said “Pan Metron Ariston” , which means “Everything in moderation” so we would suggest not to exceed the 3-4 cups per day.
A cup of Matcha is about 40 mg of caffeine and ideally a healthy person should not exceed 400 mg daily, where for pregnant or nursing women the max is 200 mg. Caffeine is present in other things as well, like cocoa beans, chocolate, soda etc., you should always be aware of your daily caffeine intake.
In case you have health issues like heart disease, stomach ulcers, blood pressure or any other health problems, please consult your doctor first and find a safe dosage for yourself.
You can also try and see how many cups are enough for you. In case you notice any irregularities in your system you can decrease the dosage and check out the results.
When to drink your Matcha?
- Early in the morning instead of coffee. It will give you the boost you need to wake up and start fresh full of energy and focus on your work or any other tasks you have for the day. Matcha does contain caffeine but will not give you the jitters that often come with coffee. The reason is that Matcha contains L-Theanine, an element which helps release all the caffeine slowly and gently as it steadily wakes you and keeps you up for about 6-8 hours with smooth energy.
- 30 minutes before your meals, in case you are drinking Matcha to boosts your metabolism or in order to see better results of your diet. If your stomach is sensitive to caffeine, we wouldn’t recommend to drink it on an empty stomach so grab a small bite
- 30 minutes before the gym to recharge your batteries. As said before, it will boost your energy but also help you with your focus due to L-theanine for better performance. There are also some surveys that indicate that people who exercise and consume Matcha tea have better results in burning fat during workout than those who just exercise.
We wouldn’t really recommend Matcha very late in the afternoon especially if you are sensitive to caffeine because it might keep you up overtime.
Matcha is an amazing drink that has so many health benefits and it’s definitely worthy to put it in your daily diet. Its for sure a lot better than coffee and it’s safer too.
